Urban Soccer Symposium Takes Next Steps

Urban Soccer Symposium - Darrin Smith

The 7th annual Urban Soccer Symposium presented by the US Soccer Foundation took place last week in Washington, DC. The event is centered around using soccer as a vehicle for social change, and nearly 200 attendees made it the largest symposium in history.

For the third straight year, Demosphere was proud to attend and sponsor the opening luncheon featuring former NFL player Darrin Smith (pictured).

Included in the great four-day event were numerous workshops, important speakers, lobbying on Capitol Hill, and the Capital Soccer Classic, a fundraiser for Soccer For Success, a free after-school program.

The growing significance of the event is more apparent now than ever. With more organizations taking part, the Urban Soccer Symposium is attracting more attention from the soccer world, sponsors, and others.

The positive work being done nationwide deserves to be shared with others and we look forward to seeing more this coming year!
