Tips For a Smooth Spring Season

The beginning of the year is a busy time for many sports, as Spring season’s tryouts and registrations are already underway! Administrators and directors are swamped with not only managing their leagues and clubs, but scheduling practices, building rosters, and communicating important information to their members. To make it easier, we’ve put together a few tips for a smooth Spring season.

Utilizing last season’s settings

Work smarter, not harder! Your sports management technology should make it easy to clone last season’s settings with the ability to tweak dates and customize messaging for the upcoming season.

Getting important information to your community

There are multiple ways to promote your upcoming tryout dates: website, social media, and email, to name a few.

Start by creating graphics that can be used across all of the platforms, and plan to post them periodically. For your website, make sure your tryouts are front and center on your home page in your header, or “above the fold” (before scrolling.) Send out emails once a week to your contacts reminding them that tryouts are coming up. Make sure to include if spots are becoming limited.

Finally, for social media, aim to post twice a week with similar messaging to the email. As always, ensure links are easy to find, such as putting one in your social media bio and directing people to click there to sign up.

Managing volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of many sports clubs, leagues, and associations (and we are grateful for them!) Demosphere has specific tools just for managing volunteers. In our system, you can create roles that suit your organization’s needs with custom messaging, forms, opt-out fees, and background checks through our partner Yardstik.

Ordering uniforms and gear

Next season, let us help lessen the amount of boxes that are full of gear and uniforms in your office! We have recently partnered with Signature Athletics, the best in sports merchandise, to offer free team stores. Signature will handle the whole process from designing gear to shipping to parent communication, with a 10% kickback on every store purchase.

We’d love to hear how Demosphere can improve your next season!
