Is My Data Being Shared?

Data Security amongst youth sports organizations

Data privacy is an increasingly important issue for youth sports organizations. Recently, Demosphere presented a webinar focused on Effective & Safe Club Data Management that discussed third party data sharing and its impact.

Earlier this week, a customer emailed the following question, “I just wanted to reconfirm that all of the email addresses you have via our Demosphere registration site are not allowed to be re-used in the manner [competitor] has done in this referenced email.”

Great question.

At Demosphere, we do not use, share, or sell any registrant data from our systems for any purpose. All data collected by our customers is theirs – they retain ownership – we just store it securely on their behalf.

This is not necessarily the case with other providers. Be sure to check their Privacy Policy to fully understand how your data can be used – you might be surprised. Afterwards, make sure your members are aware as well. As an administrator, you are responsible for their data.
