As a youth sports organization, the bottom line is always important.

Website Sponsorship can be a key part of the equation. As part of Demosphere’s WebWriter® Website System, organizations have the ability to add sponsor logos to a number of areas of their site, yet many don’t take advantage of this ability.

This webinar discussed many of the mechanics of website sponsorship – how to generate them, what options exist, and how to develop ongoing relationships with sponsors.

The session covered the following topics:

  • Why Are Sponsorships Important? – Increasing the bottom line, funding new programs, and an appearance of professionalism top the list – but there are many other reasons, too!
  • Sponsorship Preparation – In order to obtain sponsors, you’ll need to make sure to have a professional appearance and know what placements you’re selling. From there, exposure data is important – every sponsor will want to know how many people will see their ad.
  • Initial Steps – Figuring out who will sell the sponsorships internally is important – as is coming up with a sell sheet to explain what’s available along with the benefits to sponsors.
  • Follow Up Steps – The work doesn’t end after the sponsorship is sold! Sponsors want to know how well their placement did … and be prepared to recognize their support in hopes of continuing the relationship!

Overall, the session touched on a number of important areas. Even if your organization has sponsorships, there are some ideas to help sharpen the saw and drive new business.
