Get Going Demosphere - Irish Excursion
In September, Vice President Carol Baker was lucky enough to take part in a trip to Ireland with the Keegan Theatre, a Washington D.C.-based theater company.
In addition to performing in cities like Cork, Kilkenny, and Galway (pictured), Carol had a chance to experience Gaelic Women's Football, Hurling, and followed Ireland's progress in the Rugby World Cup being held in New Zealand.
Needless to say, Irish sport preferences and priorities are quite different from those here in the States!

In the east and southeast, Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee dumped many inches of rain in August and September.
Most of Texas has seen the hottest, driest weather since records began in 1895. The drought continues as we speak.

European Experience for Rochester's Empire United U-17 Girls
This summer, Empire United Soccer Association's U-17 girls team from Rochester, NY took the trip of a lifetime to Barcelona, Spain that was an unforgettable soccer experience for the players.
While in Spain, the team played friendly games against high-level Spanish teams from the Barcelona area. The Spanish teams hosted a post-game social for the Empire United girls which gave them a chance to socialize with the Spanish girls, learn about their culture and the Spanish lifestyle, and share their passion for soccer.
Off the field, the team had the opportunity to take in the sights of Barcelona including Las Ramblas, La Sagrada Familia and the Nou Camp stadium, home to FC Barcelona and a natural highlight of the tour. Upon their return to the US, team manager Judy Zornow commented, "Everyone had an incredible time! They adored Clive (tour guide) - he did a great job. All the comments were extremely positive."
