A Message from the President
To Our Customers,

We salute your efforts to provide a sports program that fosters more participation and development of every member. Our mission is to provide sensible solutions for communication and membership database needs, so that organizations like yours can run better with the least administrative overhead.

Demosphere is a company with solid financial strength, a dedicated staff of expert employees, and a client base second to none. We know that your operation depends on our operation, and we have prepared accordingly.

Everyone shares the sense that economic challenges have become key factors in the smooth operation of groups large and small, whether they are clubs or companies. Every opportunity to save time, and deliver better services more efficiently, needs to be examined by your board, officers, and staff. In times of uncertainty, it is instinctive to consider pulling back instead of investing, but such a tactic can be a false economy. Our company will continue to exploit technology that delivers low-cost, dependable, and convenient solutions, saving your members time and money, facilitating fundraising, and allowing your staff and volunteers to get the most done in the least time.

Planning for hard times must begin in good times, and we have always focused on value. The convenience of online services saves time and money for families with busy lives, and for the club it can reduce or eliminate returned checks or missed communications. Administrative tasks can be delegated more widely, minimizing the risk of volunteer burnout.

We also depend on our clients as a key source for innovative ideas, so let us know what would help you improve the services to your members. We will find a way to bring communication, networking, and database technology to bear on these issues, in a sensible and effective way.

Thank you for the opportunity to work together to meet these common goals.

USASA Midyear Meeting Recap
In mid-October, CTO Brian Moelk and Marketing Director Sean Rose traveled to San Antonio, TX for the USASA Midyear Meeting.

The event serves as US Adult Soccer's annual meeting and is the largest gathering of adult soccer administrators in the country.  During the event, Sean and Brian presented two workshops -- one on the USASA National Registration System and the other on a new extension to the system geared towards teams and players.

They also had a chance to catch up with USASA Staff Stephanie Walker, Steve Addington, and Carolina Finol in addition to many clients around the country. On to Phoenix in '09!
Get Going Demosphere
Demosphere employees continue to report on their extracurricular sport activities in an attempt to encourage others to "Get Going":

Charles Saftner, Demosphere's Online Registration Product Manager, has been participating in high performance driver's education events since 1998.  Most recently he's been competing in auto-cross racing events in his Mazda Rx-7 and last month placed 5th out of 58 participants.  Charles enjoys testing man and machine while safely and legally "putting the pedal to the metal"!
For the Good of the Game
For the past three years Dek Smith, Director of Georgia Coast FA, has been involved in a program in the United States called the Italian Soccer School (ISS), a 16-day residential summer program where young people can "Learn and Play the Italian Way." ISS players are exposed to "the beautiful game" and the Italian language every day, on the field, in the dining hall, at poolside, basically everywhere there is an opportunity to speak.

Now Dek Smith is in Rome launching his latest 'learn-a-language-through-soccer' program, the English Soccer School in Rome (ESSR).  Italian youth will be learning soccer skills delivered solely in English by high-level UEFA quality coaches who focus on developing speed, strength, personal skill, game skill and character.  The program is geared towards English and American schools in Rome, and also provides an opportunity for Italian players who wish to learn English through soccer to attend one of ESSR's centers of development (Centro Calcio) located in various places around Rome.

Through the years of coaching soccer on both sides of the Atlantic, Dek Smith, who holds a UEFA 'A' advanced coaching license as well as a Class 'A' refereeing license, has specialized in the development of young soccer players, U9-19, seeing many go from youth to professional.

Learning a second language through soccer is truly something "For the Good of the Game".

Tip of the Month - Online Registration
Sending Broadcast Emails

Did you know that you can send broadcast e-mails reminding people to register without sending the same e-mail to players that have already registered?  It's simple: just select the past seasons you want to contact and then use the "Did not play" dropdown to select the current season. For example if you are half way through registration for the spring 2009 season you could select fall 2008 and spring 2008 as your contact seasons and then spring 2009 as the did not play season. In other words you are sending an e-mail to all players that registered in the fall or spring 2008 seasons and that did not yet play in spring 2009.
