Upward - Pine Glen CMA Success Story
Pine Glen Alliance Church - Lewistown, PA
Pine Glen Alliance Church in Lewistown, PA has a relatively young Upward program - they just completed their second season of basketball. Year one saw about 90 kids participate, numbers increased 60% to 150 children this season.
In its first season as an option, parents used Online Registration over 40% of the time. Ross Moore, Pine Glen's League Director, says Online Registration reduces time and only takes a minute or two to completely sign up. Parents that used the online form this season have said that the process is "easy, fast, and secure."
The feature that is most helpful for Ross is the ability to place children in categories by gender and age group so that he can see how many have been registered in each. An additional benefit of using Online Registration is the ease of collecting and storing volunteer information. Pine Glen registered an increased number of coaches and referees and about twenty families offered to donate food items.
With their inaugural online campaign in the past, Moore knows next year's setup will be a breeze. He's looking forward to seeing greater adoption of the system which he knows will benefit the parents. He's also looking forward to exploring more of the administrative features.
"I have been able to reach who I need to reach. There's been no frustration and the support was great. This has enhanced our ability to register children for the program, so it has been a very good experience," Moore said.
